King Features'
Prince Valiant

King Features' Prince Valiant represents America's lasting contribution to the Arthurian legend, one of the most persistent folk and literary traditions of Western civilization. The strip was started by Hal Foster in 1937 who handled the writing and art until, considering retirement, he handed the art reins over in 1971 to John Cullen Murphy. Foster continued to write the strip until his retirement in 1980 when Murphy, after using several different writers, chose his son, Cullen Murphy, as the strip's new writer. After a long career, Hal Foster died in 1982. John Cullen Murphy retired from the strip in 2004 and passed away just a few months later. The current artist is Gary Gianni ( see his bio coming soon to our Bio pages) and after a few months Cullen Murphy passed the writing torch over to Mark Schultz who continues to carry on the those wonderful stories which have captured the hearts and minds of people who love adventure the world over.

Our 1/9th scale statue is based on the work of artist Gary Gianni and will be sculpted by Shawn Nagle. This very detailed piece will feature the full lance not completely seen in the image as shown.
